A little history about Flintshire:
There is a healing well, St. Winefride’s Well in Holywell, Flintshire, Wales that is known to be the oldest continually visited pilgrimage site in Great Britian. The healing waters have been said to cause miraculous cures. The legend started in 660AD when Caradoc, son of a local Prince, severed the head of the young Winefride after she shunned his advances. A spring rose from the ground where her head fell and she was restored to life by her Uncle St. Beuno (a holy man, patron saint of sick children and sick cows)
St. Winefride is known as the Patron Saint of Holywell and against unwanted advances.
There is a Latin writing about her life meantioning a scar on her neck. And that her brother, Owain was known to have killed Caradoc.
